Just as I was about to make a very important call, I realized that I have no dial-tone on my phone. It's Verizon Fios Digital. I have two phones connected to this account and neither has a dial-tone. I troubleshooted the hardware, and I think the phones are fine. I don't have a cell phone to use as an alternate. And I can't call Verizon since I have no alternate phone.
So, I tried to use the troubleshooter here: http://www.verizon.com/support/residential/contact-us/index.htm - choosing Phone > Fios digital voice > Dial tone or call quality issues, but I get nothing on the next screen. No troubleshooting, no way to contact Verizon. No helpful links, nothing.
Then, I tried to use the live chat by clicking the the 'ask now' button. Nothing happens.
And then there's the troubleshooter. It worked through the screen for 'no dial tone?: Let's start troubleshooting your issue by checking the status of your account, looking for possible network outages and testing your home phone line.' I clicked the 'next' button on that screen, and, let's just say I'm still waiting here.
So, I can't call Verizon. I can't do the live chat. I can't go through the troubleshooter. Verizon is not giving me a question form or an email address that i can use. I've messaged the @VerizonSupport Twitter, but I'm not holding my breath.
I really need to get this fixed or at least know that Verizon knows about the issue and will do something about it.
I am NOT having problems with the internet, and I'm not having problems with any other website I typically go to..
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Or, it would be great if someone could give me the email for their tech support, if such a thing exists.
Did you try this Verizon Troubleshooter? You can use the Verizon Troubleshooter to fix and report issues with your Verizon Phone, FiOS TV, or Internet Service, as well as to schedule a repair, here is the link:
You can find tools on the Verizon Residential Support page that may help you diagnose your issue:
Yes, I absolutely did try that troubleshooter. In fact, I've tried it about 20 times now. After I click the next button, the animated graphic that shows that it's processing comes up for about one second, disappears, and nothing happens. I have one screen that's been open for over an hour. What's supposed to happen?
I went to other link, as well. Over an hour ago now, in fact. The troubleshooting (for the phones), I already did. I don't believe my phones are the problem, either. Once again, nothing happens. Whatever is supposed to happen, hasn't happened.
I really need somebody to tell me what to do beyond the very little that is on this site. I have looked. I have tried everything. Multiple times. Is there no email address to contact Verizon/Tech support directly?
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
We're glad we were able to get the phone back up and working for you. Let us know in a new public post if you ever need help with anything else.
Did you know as long as you have an internet connectin and a gmail account you can make calls from your computer free in the U.S? You need a microphone or a headset with a microphone, they can be had cheap. When you log into gmail look in the lower right for the little phone icon and click it and on the right a dial pad will come up and with the microphone connected input the 10 digit phone number and hit call. I don't have a home phone and a few times have misplaced my cell in the house with no one else home so called from the computer to find it. Mary
