Phone Tree

When incoming calls come into a main line in a department, how can I set up this main line to have the incoming caller get a list of options to reach other lines within that department.  For example, press 1 for John Doe, press 2 for Jane Doe, etc.  This is probably not refferred to as a "phone tree", but I'm not sure what it's called or how I go about getting it set up on the main line.  Can anyone give me some direction?

this is for your home phone? we had a digital answering machine that let us have separate "mailboxes" for diff. members of our household (press 1 to leave a message for joe, press 2 to leave a message for moe, etc.) but that was only for leaving  messages, and was a feature of the answering machine, not of our telephone service provider.....anyone else have any ideas?
