I currently have the Verizon tripple play tackage: TV, internet, phone. It's with an agreement to stay with the servce for 24 months. I have about 7 months left on that agreement.
However, I'd like to see if I can drop the phone service, and just go with a package that offers TV and internet. I see that Verizon offers packages for $74 and $84. I would sign up with a brand new agreement of 24 months, as long as I can drop the phone service.
Is that allowed by Verizon, where I'd drop just the phone service, and continue with TV and internet?

Usually if you have the triple play and drop the phone it will actually cost more then by keeping it. The prices $74 and $84 sound like new customer pricing to me. Is that what you are getting quoted yourself?
Sign into your account go to add/change services and remove the phone service from the package that you want. That is the price that you will pay if you go with it. Also, make sure "new 2 year agreement" is selected if you want to sign a new one which may or may not give you lower prices.
Wait 2 years for the contract , even you drop off the landline phone right now, I think that is less $10, wait until contract expiry, close a/c,and open new a/c with other name at the same day.
good luck
