I am trying to transfer my phone number from Verizon to Xfinity. Everything was working correctly for a few days but all of a sudden I could no longer receive incoming calls. I then find out the number was never fully released from Verizon but my account was cancelled. Every time I have called, I am told there is no way the account can be reopened and the number can't be reused. Please help !

Xfinity who initiated the port must complete the port. Verizon doesn’t like to make it easy to port out.
contact your state public service commission or Public utilities commission to have them handle it.
http://www.fcc.gov under porting complaints you can file and let them intervene.
