I'm looking to change from my current service provider to Verizon FIOS and I saw and liked the FIOS Digital Voice option provided by Version. I am having a problem, however, as when I attempt to select porting my number through the online bundle system it does not provide me the option of FDV, however if I just have it search bundles w/o selecting to port my number it does work. I opted to speak to a Chat representative who informed me that I can only take a Native TN when using FDV and that porting is not a valid option, however he/she was not able to inform me as to why, the only explaination I was given was 'technical reasons'. Why would I be able to port my existing TN from my current provider to the POTS Verizon service, but not the FDV service?
Hello davidearp,
Currently Verizon has stopped offering Fios Digital Voice across most of its footprint for new and existing customers, which is why you may be having a problem porting your number. There are limited areas that are still offering it.
