Problem with new digital cordless phone

I just got a Verizon digital cordless phone 100 -- base with 4 handsets -- and set it up. I don't use the answering machine. Whenever anyone calls, the phone rings once or twice and the caller gets cut off. If they call back immediately, my phone doesn't ring but they get sent to voice mail. Any ideas about what the problem is? Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the trouble with your phone service, this issue could be the phone or the line, so we need further information.

1. Has this issue happened before using this new phone?

2. Have you tested another phone?

3. Are all your calls having this issue or is it intermittent?

Also, unplug your phone (base) from the phone jack(s) and the power outlet for 5 minutes and then plug back in, after that test and see if you have the same results.

Thursday verizon installed FiOS and the entire bundle and we have exact same problem Thursday, Friday, Saturday now on Sunday a chat support person is still finding the same problem. Outgoing dial tone is and always has been fine! in Virginia
