Rain disrupts my Internet Connection

Everytime it rains, my phone line gets so much static in it that it disrupts my internet connection. It also makes it a pain to even hear my voicemail that is left by others and talking on the phone to someone is annoying because of so much static. I have had Verizon check my lines several times and they say nothing is wrong but obviously something is. Would love to be able to connect to my internet whenever i want or need to.
