Is anyone aware of cases where phone calls on FIOS are not received if they derive from IP based phones? I am aware of several people who say that they cannot get through to me like that but are able to if calling from a regular land line or cell phone.
Hello Keithd,
We are not aware of any issues with IP to IP based phones. It could be a possible routing issue with the ISP. Are you having the same issue with a Verizon to Verizon service?
~Jeigh
No, not that I am aware of.
Have you been advised of the error that these callers receive when trying to call your FiOS line via IP phone?
~Eva
Sorry for the slow reply back on this.
I understand that the message they get iis that the number you have reached has been disconnected or is no longer in service.
The next step would be for the caller to check with their VoIP provider to make sure the call is reaching us and not dropping before it reaches our switch. If the the VoIP provider can trace it to our switch, then we will need to escalate further.
