Removing my Verizon landline service and unable to find option on website.

I switched to another telephone provider, my cable company. Now I want to cancel my Verizon landline service. It appears difficult to do that. I have spent an hour going around and around on the website looking for how to cancel. There are plenty of opportunities to buy new service or renew. Any advice?
