This 9:00 AM Sat Mar.6 we were surprised with no telephone service. No Dial Tone on any phone including jack at entrance panel.
Called Service Resolution Line and was told this was a central office problem, with a completion date of Wed March 10.
I consider this to be the worst service of any public utility ever. There are no outside influences such as weather or widespread emergencies.

 Same exact problem here in Brooklyn, NY. I called on March 9th and they told me the same thing that it is a centeral office problem and it should be fixed by March 11.
