I was ripped off on long distance. They charged me $84 for a 20 minute call.

you mean an international call? To me, long distance means in the US. All calls are free in the US on FIOS AFAIK.

Who is your long distance carrier? Long distance charges and Verizon FiOS have nothing to do with each other. With any telephone voice service, whether it is with Verizon or AT&T, you select who your long distance carrier will be. The terms and costs of calls are based on your agreement with the carrier.

the only way i can possibly think of someone being charged 84 dollars for a 20 minute phone call is if

A. The call was an international call ... or

B. It was a collect call you accepted charges for. if that's the case, your issue is with the company that provides the collect calls.

I got ripped off - $12.80 for 2 min call from newark to richmond.
