SELF-DIALING PHONE?

My home phone (land line - remember those?) rings this morning at 9:44 a.m. Looking at the caller i.d. on the phone, it gives our name and phone number. How is it that my phone just dialed itself? Of course I picked it up and answered; no one there. How does this happen; why does this happen?

Your phone is not calling itself. It's "CallerID Spoofing," which is a technique that allows some VoIP phone users to insert whatever CallerID they want displayed. There is nothing you can do about it except don't answer calls from yourself.
