Stop Voice Mail

I do not want voice mail set up on my phone.  I have tried all of the virtual assistant informaiton, and no luck.  non of the answers match anything that comes up on the website - very frustrating!  I do not want the VM to answer my phone.  I have an answering machine!  How to I stop the voice mail!  Thanks Mary

I believe you can only get it turned off by contacting verizon.  I suggest trying calling 1-800-Verizon M-F during business hours.  Might be able to use twitter or Verizon Chat.
