I just switched reluctantly to Fios Digital Voice. Previously I had my number non-listed and non-published for over 20 years. I switched to just non-published a week ago and since then seem to get telemarketers. Before I got NO telemarketing calls. Did my switch to just non-published cause this? Should I add back non-listed? Thanks.
I have the same exact problem. I added back the number to the no call registry. I got one telemarketing call after that. I don't know how long it takes to go into effect. But it's worth a try.
these days they don't bother with listings. They just dial completely through block of number with auto-dialing systems, noting which ones operate. Barely worth not-publishing or not-listing your number.
Well, there are plenty of unscrupulous ones that do that, but if you are on the do not call registry and report them, they will get fined.

Done the same for the Scrupulous ones, they just check the numbers against the do not call list before dialing. Yep, the do not call list is available to telemarketers, its the only way they can honor it.
i'm obligated to post because I actually have the same problem. I swtiched phone package and ever since then, I started getting unsolicted calls. I reported this to my service provider and I was informed that the swtich did not cause the surge of telemarketing calls. These nuisance callers happen to have a lot of ways to get people's number and then call them to try to sell them stuffs, which I find very unlawful since I am on the DNC for 3 years now.
I just can't tolerate such calls that I've reported several calls already to http://www.callercenter.com. I intend to report them to the FTC, too. But I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the correct process of making a complaint. Can anybody help?
also go to www.verizon.com/privacy and opt out of the stuff you do not want to be included in.

First register with https://www.donotcall.gov/ if you haven't already. That site is also where you report violators to the FTC.
NO, I Don't need to consolidate my credit cards to buy your insurance so I can have you clean my chimney with viagra from your Canadian pharmacy!!!!!!
I got a virtual number last month and I get so many telemarketers calling that it's starting to sound like a single conversation.
