VMI lamp always flashing, even w/ empty mailbox

The VMI indicator on my Uniden DECT2060 phone always shows a message waiting even though the voicemail box is empty.  If I reset it (on the handset), it will be blinking again within 10 minutes. 

This function had always worked perfectly until a week ago when my Verizon contract was re-negotiated and one of the changes made was phone service was updated from "old switching style" to "new switching".

Any suggestions?

Well, there's always tech support.  That way if it happens more than once maybe you can get them to change out your module or whatever they call it on their end. 

However, if you do not want the hassle of waiting in the queue and all that you could try calling yourself on a different line and leaving yourself a message.  Then when you delete the new message in your mail box, chances are it will restore the system to straight dial tone (no message waiting).
