Verizon Digital Voice: Rotary/Dial Pulse Compatibility.

Now with the ONT upgrade in the rear view mirror, I thought I might run a quick test to see if Verizon Digital Voice is compatible with rotary/dial pulse signaling.

I grabbed my Harris/Dracon TS21, clipped onto the pins at the 66 block, switched the set to pulse dial, went offhook and successfully dialed my mobile phone.

Looks like I'll be able to enjoy my tiny collection of Western Electric rotary dial phones for a little while longer. 😊

I've been running my 500 sets on FDV for years.  The rotary logic is in the ONT, as it does all the BORSCHT functions.

I'm surprised that they still support rotary dial on FDV.

If Verizon, at some point, decides to discontinue support of dial pulse, I can use my Canon imageCLASS MF743Cdw as a glorified pulse to tone converter. 🙂
