Verizon No Longer Fixing Copper Landlines in Northern Virginia

Just called to get Verizon to fix the buzz or hum on my copper landline and was told that fixing it was no longer an option.  My choices were to convert to Fios or disconnect it.  They are no longer fixing copper landlines in northern Virginia.  Having experienced Fios in Florida under first Verizon and then Frontier, i declined.  For now, I'll put up with the buzz and will contact Cox about adding phone to my internet and tv cable package.  I have been a 25 year Verizon customer and to me.
