Verizon Should Have Kept Voicewing (VOIP) Going - Verizon POTS and VCA Just Don't Measure Up

For Example, with VCA:

What about outgoing calls ?  Why isn't there a log for them ?  And why is the local instance of VCA out of synch with what is on the VCA website? Why is the local instance of VCA so quirky and problematic ?

We used to have Verizon Voicewing (VOIP) before they shut down and went out of business over a year ago.

Voicewing was great!

The call logs had every received, placed and missed call.  You could really manage your phone service.  For example, you could block all calls (Don Not Disturb) - as we did -  between 11PM and 7AM with the exception of certain family members.

VCA is a poor substitute for the features that Voicewing had.    It was a pure business decision that Verizon made to eliminate the 'competition' to preserve their  Plain Old Telephone (POTS) phone service - which is too expensive - and doesn't have anything near the features of the VOIP offering.  Eliminating Voicewing  was a shortsighted decision.

Correction and clarification to the previous post - The Do Not Disturb feature of Voicewing did not BLOCK incoming calls - it just sent them directly to Voicemail without ringing your phone so you could continue to sleep undisturbed.  And have a message waiting for you in the morning. Except for the numbers on the 'white list' - if one of them called your phone would ring.  And you can add or delete the numbers on the list as you wish.  Can anyone tell me when will Verizon POTS will offer this user-programmable feature ?
