Someone called Verizon and claimed they were from a competing phone provider. They told Verizon that I was switching service to them and Verizon disconnected my number and gave it away to them. How do I get my number back and how could Verizon possibly authorize a random caller to shut down my service and take my number? I have a small business tied to this number and I would have to change all advertising and everything associated with this number.
Someone please help!!!
Hello Koehdebor,
While a Verizon employee may occasionally post here, this community is meant mainly for peer-to-peer support. If you need to talk to a Verizon representative, you should contact customer service directly.
Follow Lawrence advice to contact Verizon.
I doubt it was a random caller, but was probably a real other company. However that doesn't mean companies don't make mistakes. E.g. gave the wrong number to Verizon to switch. Possibly the other customer is just as mad to have been given the wrong number.
