I am livid right now and attempting to seek advice/help.
As of last Wednesday (9/25), my landline was shut off by Verizon. All of my other services are working (internet and TV). I called and was informed that my number had been given away to another company! This is a number that I've had for YEARS!!! After spending 45 minutes on the phone with one rep then 30 with another rep, I was told that they were working on it.
Friday (9/27) I called again. After waiting 45 minutes, I was told that they were working on it and it should be back on Monday (9/30).
Well, well, well....today is Monday (9/30), my phone service it NOT back on and I am on hold (40 minutes of my life wasted) waiting to speak with a supervisor.
How can a company do this?! Without consent? Without notifying me?!
And all this time I've wasted calling and it's gotten me NO WHERE!

Hi AmyD,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
