I picked up my phone this evening to make a call and there was no dial tone. Called customer service to find out that they had given my phone number that I've had for almost 20 years for reasons I cannot comprehend. Apparently some other random person called some other random phone company for service and Verizon just gave away my number. They told me that my number will be restored in a week (why it should take that long is utterly beyond my comprehension) and that this will extend my contract with them. No apologies, no real explanation, no compensation, nothing. Just "too bad". Right now I am feeling a seething hatred for Verizon as this behavior represents everything that is wrong with corporate America- the attutide of "Just give us your money. You don't matter." So now I am trapped in another two year contract with a company that I loathe. Verizon, you are a terrible, terrible company. I have been reading the complaints of others similar to mine and the overall message is, you just don't give a **bleep** about your customers. Shame on you.
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
