The default password "last four digits of your phone number" don't work when I try to set up email. How do I solve this problem? People tell me they've been leaving messages, but I can't access the voice mail account.
if you're checking your messages over your phone, and you have not set up your voicemail password yet. then it's either the last four of your phone number, or in small pocket area's of verizon, it's been reported that it's your number without the area code.
so try putting in your own number as the password (without area code)

If the suggestions provided do not work for you.
You can also login at MyVerizon and reset your voicemail passcode from there.
When logged on to MyVerizon this is the link I found.
https://www22.verizon.com/ForYourHome/VZRepair/vziha/Service.aspx?ihaweb=WebVoiceMailReset
If the link does not work for you when logged in, try this.
Login at MyVerizon and select the Support drop down menu and click phone. Under the My Phone, in the Verizon Troubleshooter you will see the link Reset Voicemail Passcode.
