What kind of forwarding is FiOS Digital Voice call forwarding?

Is it the "your home phone rings N times and if no-one answers it forwards to the number you set" kind? (And if so, what is N?)

Or is it "your home phone never rings and it immediately forwards to the number you set" kind?

(I want to use Google Voice as my voicemail (like I do with my mobile phone) and the way you do that is have your phone forward to the Google Voice number.  But obviously I want the phone to ring several times first so I have the chance to answer it before it rolls over to Google Voice.)

FiOS Digital Voice call forwarding is immediate.  You can set a schedule and only forward calls from certain numbers.

FiOS Digital Voice has simultaneous ring.   If you can set Google voice to answer after a few rings, you could use this to ring your Google voice number at the same time.

FiOS Digital Voice can be setup to email voice mails.  This is a handy way to get messages on the go.
