Why a five-day delay to fix a problem you caused?

This morning we discovered that we have no dial tone. If I try calling our land line with my cell, I get connected to a completely different number, which to me would indicate that one of your techs has inadvertently crossed our lines.

When I submitted the repair ticket, I was told that the earliest time a tech could come out to resolve the issue is Monday the 30th (five days). Waiting that amount of time for a resolution to a problem you created is simply unacceptable. I'd like to know what has to happen to get this resolved in a more timely manner.

Verizon in most areas is supposed to repair your Telephone service or attempt to fix it within one day. If they won't fix it or attempt to fix it within a day complain to the PUC as they're not meeting regulation standards.

Perhaps consider this article: http://stopthecap.com/2012/05/02/new-york-accuses-verizon-of-abandoning-quality-landline-service-its...
