blocke my own telephone number

how do you put a block on your own tel number so people do not see it i know you can dial *67 and *82 individually; however is there a way to block more permanently  thank you

For some phone Service you can.  For Fios Digital Voice you can set it from the website or by star code *31 (*32 turns it off again).  For some phone service you will have to deal with a person (1-800-VERIZON).

The *82 code you mentioned is only of use then you have turned on callerid block, as it lets your callerid be visiable for a single call.

The *67 code is useful when you have not turned on all callerid block, to turn on callerid block for a single call.
