caller ID

My caller ID drops the area code, so I can't use it to reply to the caller. Has anyone else encountered this?

Is this for all calls or just those within your area code.  

For example... I live in 631 area code.  If a call comes in from a call on 631 the phone will drop the 631 and display the 7 digit phone number but if a call comes in from say 516 it will display the entire 10 digit number.  This is a feature of my phone, not the phone service.

Its a feature of your caller I'd set. Go to retrevo.com. Put in the model and you will get a manual and it will tell you how to do it or call the manufacturer.
