Hi I live in southern california how can I get and use caller id? Is it an extra service?

Do I just need a special phone to see the info?

What info is available via caller id?

First off you need to have phone service.  Do you have Verizon Phone Service or phone service with a different provider.

Most phone service providers offer Caller ID.  You will need to have a phone that supports Caller ID.  On the caller ID is generally the name of the person calling and their phone number.

i just got phone sevice for the first time it was activated on tuesday but my caller ID isnt working does it take longer for that?? my phone was turned on quick i called monday nite tuesday it was on but nothing else i signed up for works

should have came on with the phone service.  log in at www.myverizon.com and see if it is included in your features,  if they left it off by mistake you can usually order it online or call into customer service, but they are mon-friday for features like that.
