home line not working

My home landline isn't working either. If you bug them they turn it on for a day or so, but then it goes off again (no dial tone) and they make it really hard to contact them, especially without a phone.

Exactly my issue.  In my wandering from screen to screen I once caught sight of a ChatBox, which had a wait, and there was no alert sound when the wait was over so I got dropped. No way to communicate by email either, totally weird -- obviously they want landliners out. I'm going to go to internet phone via satellite -- the transition may be bumpy, but it's so much cheaper.
