Unable to get any real information re: troubleshooting for landline phone. Every thing keeps going back to FIOS service, which I do not have. I do not have dial tone to the NID, so my understanding is that the trouble is in outside lines not inside the house. But chat person says I have to be home for repair. Why?
Where is the NID? Also, probably because they want to be able to confirm that once they restore the dial tone to the NID, they want you to be able to confirm that you have service in the house
