I am in the process of constructing a new home and the old pole needs removed because we have excavators coming to grade our land and the pole with wires dangling are dangerous and they cannot clear land with pole and wires dangling, they need to be tired into new electric lines above! I don't know if Verizon has a special number or web address for this. Try 1-800-verizon. Also check the pole. It may not "belong" to verizon. Varies from area to area, sometimes the power company owns them, etc.
