phone line has strange busy signal, says in use but not a problem at my house

As there seems to be no way to talk to a human being, I hope a Verizon agent will send this up the chain.  I have two landlines as there is no cell coverage in my area.  Yesterday all working fine.  Today, primary line has a buzz when you pick up any phone, second line works.  We tried plugging a phone directly into the box where the line enters the house, it is the line that is out, not a problem inside the house.  Scheduled a visit for Friday (really it takes that long??? a real problem when we cannot get cell coverage here as no towers and don't tell me data roaming works it doesn't).

I can't seem to update my problem report that the problem is not at my house so I'm trying the forum instead.  It's the outside line, not here, when can you fix it?

thanks, Marie

If you put in a ticket and told them you checked at the NID and it had the same problem, then Friday is not an appointment to come and fix the issue. Friday is the day it will be fixed by. It could be done any time before then.

Problem, there was no place to tell them I checked it at the box, that's why I was hoping an agent would respond.  I guess I will have to call them on my other line.   I hope you are right, but until they know we checked it, can't be sure.  thanks
