voice mail reaches 50 and stops forwarding e-mails

I heavily rely on my e-mails when check my voice mails. But when verizon voice mail reaches 50 messages, it stops getting voice mails and I stop getting voice mail messages thru emails. Is there a way to either 1. have an unlimited voice mail messages storage, 2. have voice mail messages deleted automatically after certain time or 3. have an alert setup so that when a limit is about to reach (say about 45), I get an alert thru e-mail? This is very important to me because I rarely get my phone calls at home and I've missed many doctor's appointment due to this problem. Thanks in advance~!
