This error message can be solved simply by sending an SMS message to your Jetpack by using the phone number assigned to your device. Check the info tab on your Jetpack to get this number. After receiving the text message, just delete it and you will no longer get this error message. Disregard all the proposed solutions of faulty firmware, Verizon network problems, etc..
