ASK-NCQ1338 gets disconnect almost every 2 hours during the day.

I'm getting really disappointed about Verizon.

ASK-NCQ1338 gets disconnected almost every 2 hours during the day. I use it as a passthrough. My main Asus ax58 router log shows those disconnects from WAN.

I have been in IT for a long time and I just don't get why network lease time is set to 2 hours by Verizon.

VERIZON!!! if you want us to use your home internet then FIX it. I work from home and I can afford disconnects.

I'm on the same as you. It does not happen every day but my asus router does show a link down from passthrough every 2 hours from lease time on the ASK modem. It is just Asus sometimes reconnects without fully losing the connection.

I also have IP Passthrough enabled. the ASK-AF came with the latest 222656 firmware and for about three days all was well.

Today, we lost internet. it did not just lost connection or reboot itself, the silly thing decided to do a self restore to factory settings...

see this post for more details:

ASK-NCQ1338AF reset itself to "factory default settings"

not a big deal as far as resetting it, since the only changes I made to the factory settings were IP Passthrough and admin password.

but still extremely annoying...

It's a known issue of the ASK-NCQ1338 gateway in Verizon's engineering team and has not yet been fixed even in the latest firmware update according to https://www.reddit.com/r/verizonisp/comments/wvec20/release_notes_for_ask_software_222656/. I don't think any customer service representative can help at this moment.
