I can read text messages but how do I compose text messages?

If you include what phone you have that would be helpful. On my phone I follow these simple steps:
1. Open "Message+"
2. Click on the circular button that is located in the bottom right corner of the screen (it looks like a pencil/pen)
3. Click "To:" and input the persons number, or if they are already in your contacts their name
4. Type message
5. Hit the button that looks like an arrow ">"

OP has the Ellipsis 8 tablet.
When you open the app (Message+) there is an icon in the lower right, red dot with pencil. Click it.
