I want to replace my Samsung Galaxy S8+, but I have a couple issues that I need to find a way to overcome.
First is that I don't have 5G in the rural area where I live. I tried to buy a S21 last year, but it was constantly looking for 5G and wearing down the battery astronomically fast. When it didn't find 5G, it just thought there was no service at all. I tried to just turn off 5G altogether, but Verizon got rid of the ability to disable it on Galaxy phones, so I had to return the phone. So until they improve the 5G service, I have to get a device that doesn't have 5G, AKA the S10.
I found one on Amazon that says it's a Verizon phone. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P2MCY3Z?ref_=pe_623860_70668670_dpLink&th=1
I'm a little concerned that WiFi calling isn't going to work on it. I tried to use WiFi calling on an unlocked phone that I had bought, but Verizon didn't allow that. This is not an unlocked phone, but I still wonder if Verizon will allow Wifi calling on a phone that didn't come directly from them. Does anyone have experience with this? Not having WiFi calling is a deal breaker because of the poor coverage in the rural area where I live.

underrugswept, we always want to help make sure that you can get the help you need when it comes to the device you wish to use. When buying from 3rd party sellers such as Amazon, eBay or from any online marketplace, these are not the most reliable sources to make the purchase. Was there an issue with upgrading with us?

Hi there. Thanks for responding. The issue is that I need a non-5G phone for reasons outlined in my initial post. If you still have S10 models in stock somewhere, then I'd be more than happy to upgrade straight through you.

You could also use a 4G only SIM card in a 5G capable phone to limit the phone from looking for 5G networks until the 5G network reaches your area.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

underrugswept, we definitely understand your previous for a non 5G phone. We do currently have some phones that are LTE, but not 5G capable. The s10e is available for in store pick up in some areas. In addition, if you are a fan of Samsung we have some older models such as the S9, Note 8 and Note 9. Please see the link below for full devices available and let us know if you have any questions.
