Re-adding Companion Palm Phone

I had added a palm companion phone a year or so ago and  after a while I cancelled the service and  I paid the phone off. I wanted to re-add the phone and I have tried to 3 add 3-4 times and have spoken with numerous agents that either have no clue what is going on, disconnected the call or tells me there is no order placed for a new line. One told me to reboot my phone and she would call me back to finish and now the phone is initializing. I am getting emails stating I added the companion phone and what the bill will be, however it is not listed as a device on my account and the phone is initializing. I can’t get past the initializing screen so now the phone is a paperweight. I reached out to Palm that told me how to hard reset the phone through the bios but that does not work. I need to know what is really going on with my account and if it’s impossible to re-add this phone to my account. Is it impossible to re-add a Palm Companion phone since the sim is built in? I am beyond frustrated with how many people I’ve had to talk to on chat and over the phone.

It was stuck on initializing.  I had to take the SIM out which you’re not supposed to do on this phone but didn’t have a choice. I’ve since decided not to add the line due to the issues with the phone and no one being able to help me after the dozen people I’ve called

Same issue with me. Couldn't get palm number sharing device activated. Seems nobody know how to activate a sim card on palm. So frustrating

I never actually got it to work and I talked to about 4-5 agents. What I did do was figure out how to remove the SIM (if yours still has a SIM in it). This is quite easy to do if you look on YouTube. However I’m not sure it will fix your issues or if Verizon can send a SIM card for a companion phone. I just ultimately gave up and got a tablet instead. I do believe the SIM card could be the issue so you may want to mention that when you talk to someone from Verizon. Good luck. Let me know if you get it to work.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm going through the same thing. It seems like the perfect solution for going to the beach when you have a foldable phone as your main phone and don't want to risk it.  

But why do you think the sim is the problem?

It’s been a long time so forgive my memory but that’s where the issue seemed to be with my phone. See, when I bought my phone version pre-loaded it with a SIM. It’s not supposed to be removed. I cancelled the line. Year or so later try to reactivate. It seems to get stuck on that part because the sim is an old sim that was previously cancelled. So , do we need a brand new SIM or can it be reactivated?  I was confused due to talking to so many reps that told me different info. Anyway, I wasted a lot of $$ for that tiny little phone that I can’t use anymore and I can’t resell because I don’t want to dump that prob on anyone else. Sorry you had these issues, I wish I could help you!

I am trying to have mine activated too as a numbershare device. Did anybody get this to work in 2023? Nobody knows how to do it! I ordered over the phone,  chat, and went to the store. They rejected me saying it's not supported. Help!
