My friend is giving me his iPhone he previously used with Verizon. I would like to know if I can use that phone with the $50 Unlimited talk, text & data prepaid plan offered? Because when I try to buy the plan online, it tells me that I have to buy a device from them.

The $ 50 prepaid plan is only for basic feature phones. You can try the $80 prepaid plan, but you will likely need to call customer service to get the phone activated on that plan.
