I am the owner and manager of my Verizon account (I pay the bills), but the original phone number I setup as the primary account number now belongs to my son. I have a new phone and number and need to transfer the account to my new number.
How exactly do I change my Verizon primary account phone number to my new phone number?

You will have to basically complete a Transfer of Service from the original number to the other number on the account. You might need involve your son since they are using the primary number.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I may have to stop by our local Verizon store to see if they can assist. I did ask someone on their help line who told be I would need to delete the existing primary account, and then (re-)create one using the new number. Seemed harsh, and I sure don't want to interrupt any of my current service functions, as it would probably be a booger to get back! LOL!
