Every now and then I try to call my girlfriend long distance on a prepaid cell phone. About one minute into the conversation our call is interrupted with a voice that comes over my phone saying how much cash is on the phone and when the next pay is due. Is there any way I can turn this feature off? It gets pretty annoying being cut off all the time and having to call back explaining what happened.
This has something to do with the Messaging Alert levels. Try this
Go to verizowireless.com/myverizon
Click on the My Profile tab.
Select Low, Medium or High (choose Low) from the Messaging Level box and click update. Hope this works for you.
Do I have to access that site from the prepaid mobile phone?
That warning is called your "announcement level." If you're not comfortable changing that via your My Verizon account, you can also call in to customer service (8882946804) to have that lowered.
