I bought a new phone today (service will not be verizon) and would like to keep my current verizon number.
However, there is still about $33 on my verizon account, so I was wondering if it is possible to transfer that balance to a new phone number. I planned on just giving my phone and the balance to my mom but I have no idea how to change the phone number associated with my account so that she can use the money that I have left in my account. Is this even possible without using the remaining balance duking it out with customer service?

Your phone number goes with the new phone so your mother would have to buy a prepaid card and active your old phone and she can use her name and a new number. Your phone will be deactivated once you port it over to the new phone, there is no way to keep the money amount on the phone unless you leave your present number on it. Hope that makes sense.
