I've been able to solve most of the issues caused by the KitKat update (at least the ones I've discovered so far) — except one: No matter what I do, I cannot get the phone to see my Plantronics bluetooth headset as an available device. I gather from looking around that I'm not the only one experiencing bluetooth issues. Help, please.
goldenc We're glad to hear that your device is functioning better since the update. Let's get your bluetooth to connect also. Have you tried to clear the cache and data for the bluetooth setting? Go to settings, apps, all apps, bluetooth, bluetooth dun and bluetoothe le then select each and tap clear cache or data and forclose each. Restart the phone and bluetooth device then retest.

Didn't work: The only available app option was Bluetooth Share. I cleared
the data on it because it wouldn't let me clear the cache. Then I reset the
phone. Next idea?

That didn't work, either.
Is it noteworthy, at all, that I had none of the bluetooth apps listed by
the first customer assistance person? When I downloaded the KitKat update,
I lost several apps, like Google Calendar, and had to replace them. Is it
possible that there was a bluetooth-related app that vanished?

Hi GoldenC,
Thanks for your hardwork! The next step would be a Hard Reset to repair the bluetooth software in the device http://vz.to/1aUKis7 . Keep us posted with the results.
Thanks,

There's no alternative? I just spent hours only two days ago downloading
deleted apps and fixing settings after the update.
The first customer-service person asked me to look for three Blueetooth
apps in order to clear the cache/data and none of those existed on my
phone. Perhaps I'm missing something that I can download?

It is strange that the only Bluetooth application listed was Bluetooth Share. The Bluetooth applications are usually hard wired into the phone and are the reason you need to go to All Apps instead of just Downloaded in the application management screen. The Razr you indicated you have hasn't received an update recently, so let's find out which Razr version you have to ensure we find the right steps to proceed. Please go to Settings>About Phone and let me know the Baseband and Build Number listed under software information.

Baseband: SM_BP_101031.042.32.86P
Build number: KDA20.62-10
As for it not being recent, the kennel version and build date both say Thu
May 1 … 2014

Awesome! Thanks for the clarification, goldenc. That looks like you have the Droid RAZR M. The original Droid RAZR you posted under hasn't received that Kit Kat update, so I wanted to be sure which version we were working with. It may seem strange, but some Bluettoth issues on your phone have been resolved by updating the Chrome browser. You can do this through Google Play Store and search Chrome or Menu>My Apps then tap Chrome and update. If you don't see an update option, please go to Menu>My Apps>Chrome and let me know the version you see.
