I periodically check for System Updates. It says my phone is up to date but I know that is not the latest Android version unless KitKat isn't out for the RAZR MAXX?:
System Version 98.72.165.XT912.Verizon.en.US
Model number DROID RAZR MAXX
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version CDMA_N_05.21.00R
LTEDC_U_09.1D.00
Webtop version wt-3.0.0
Kernel version 3.0.8-g3617609
No, the Razr Maxx is doomed to remain on 4.1.x
Verizon has stated that they will not release KitKat for the Razr Maxx. The Verizon representative I spoke with stated they tested it on the Razr Maxx and decided it did not perform well enough. Which sounds bogus to me since KitKat was deigned to make budget phones perform well.
But I hope they release a patch for this new Fake ID vulnerability. It has been available since April so now we are just waiting on Verizon to release it to us customers.
