Can't stream via cellular data since Jelly Bean

Since the Jelly Bean update, I have had trouble with multiple apps that stream audio, including Stitcher, Pandora, NPR News, and Songza.  All say that there is a connectivity problem.  The problem only occurs over Verizon data connection; over WiFi everything works fine.  Other data dependent apps, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Navigation, etc work fine.

It seems to me that there must be some common problem rather than issues with each of the apps.  I have tried clearing the cache for each app as well as the system cache.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hmmm ... now I think I've fixed it by switching the Mobile network settings > Network Mode to LTE/CDMA instead of Global.  Will get back to you if this doesn't work.
