Droid Turbo Verizon messaging - How to remove underline?

Out of nowhere all text messaging went to underscore for letters. Search manual and internet for solutions. Anyone else experience this and find a fix?

What keyboard are you using? (Settings --> Language and input).  Try using a different keyboard?

English (US) - Google Keyboard. Seems to be the only choice. Worked fine until today.

I have a Droid Turbo and I use the Swype keyboard.  I'm not seeing that issue.

Have you  tried clearing the system cache, or maybe just a simple reboot of the phone?

Thanks SuzyQ - will try the cache clearing and look for the Swype keyboard option. In the interim since I was away for a few hours, the problem seemed to self-correct. Got lucky, as it was annoying.
