Each time I have to turn my Maxx off, it locks the SIM card and needs the PUK number to unlock it. I'm so sick of this. Can anyone please help me? TYIA!
Hello MyopicPossum,
We would be delighted to assist with this matter. Based upon review of your post it seems like you've activated the SIM lock on the device. This lock setting can only be initiated directly from the device. Generally this occurs when users alter their settings incorrectly. When the lock first occured did you alter any settings on the device? Please keep us posted, thanks!

Hello Matthew,
When I got my phone, I wanted to lock it so it required the 4 digit PIN code to get into it. I did that, using the "Set up SIM card lock" function, and, I just checked "SIM card lock settings" and it has a check mark beside "Require PIN to use phone". It has never been set up for encryption. I've only had it a few weeks. I never tried to set up encryption, nor did I do anything that made the PUK number be required after my phone has been turned off. It just started after I'd had it a couple of weeks. I'm going to be traveling by plane quite often, and will have to turn off my phone. I'm not sure what to do at that point. Any help you can give me will be most appreciate!
Thank you!!

Thanks MypoicPossum,
Actually the SIM Card lock requires a PUK code to unlock. The lock that you should have selected is screen lock. The SIM lock actually does not secure any of the phones info. Were you provide the PUK code by us? If so, please input the PUK code and remove the check mark next to the requirement. Please keep us posted, thanks!

Hello Matthew,
Unfortunately, each time I enter the PUK to unlock the SIM, it will not let me uncheck the box that locks the SIM. I got the PUK unlock number by clicking on MY DEVICE on the main page, and then the link on the right side of the screen. My phone has had me reset my PIN number so many times, it's driving me nuts. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong. The first time this happened, I phoned Verizon, he gave me the number 1-8 to unlock it, then told me to look in that spot to find my personal unlock code. I love my new phone, but this is getting a bit ridiculous.
Thanks so much for trying to help me get this straight, Matthew.

Sorry about the trouble! Here are the steps I've found to disable the SIM PIN on your device: http://vz.to/UjYwS7 . These are the steps I located to turn on other passcodes to safely lock your device: http://vz.to/1sBiqqO
Let us know how these go for you!
