Freezing on Instagram

I have had this phone for about 2 months, and within these few months my phone has frozen when in Instagram. I noticed a suggestion from Wirleless support was to remove the app that caused the freeze, however in this case it shouldn't be a problem to use Instagram since it is one of the most popular social networking sites around. I have to admit when this happened in the middle of looking at my Ex Boyfriends pictures (we were still friends at the time), all I could do was pray I didn't accidently like something! My old droid used to text and call people on its own, creepy to see it happen... so I was unsure what was happening this droid glitch time around!

I realize the solution is to hit the power button and bottom of volume button together for about 15 seconds, but it is a brand new phone and shouldn't be glitching as much as this. Is this something that can be fixed through Verizon's end? Or is this a case of removing Apps that are out of Verizon's hands?
