I disabled the Hangouts app on my Droid Turbo.
But every now and then, no matter what I'm doing it seems, a notification window pops up saying "Unfortunately, Hangouts has stopped working".
Since the app is disabled, that it's not working is no surprise!
Why is this notification popping up and how do I stop it?
Thanks.

I guess maybe the first "disable" didn't take properly; maybe some other app was using hangout or something.
So it worked the second time around.
Cleared the cache, the data, force-stopped and then disabled the app.

Did you also turn off the notifications for that disabled application?

Thanks for the reply, Ann.
No, I had not turned off "notifications", but I did just now.
Funny, immediately after I did and returned to the "disabled" apps screen, it gave me the "hangouts has stopped working" message.
Perhaps a last gasp of protest, eh?
I'll let you know.

It just informed me again it has stopped working.
Annoying, I tell ya.

Does it give you the error if you left the application enabled and didn't use it?

Sorry for the delay, Ann.
Time really got away from me.
So I did re-enable the app a couple of days ago, and I haven't seen the message since.
I'm going to make sure the cache and data is all cleared, force-stop the app and disable it again.
See what happens.
