My droid maxx shows my email count as unread

My droid maxx shows my email count as unread.  How do I correct this.  I just purchased this phone just the other day and now I am having problems. I would like to get it fixed and I like all the other features, but this is a pain to have it show a count that is not correct and be a new phone.

Clear the mail app cache, or go to the email app and mark the message as read.

revrosshyde I am sorry to hear of the trouble you are having with the email app on your phone. What email service provider and app are you using? Is this an app that came preinstalled on the phone or one you had picked up from the play store? You may also want to try deleting http://vz.to/1ExnMWE the email account and then re-adding it again http://vz.to/1Exo2oA . Lets give this a try and let me know if the email count is corrected.
