The last 3 weeks my phone will only work while on the charger, other then that it will shut down in about 5 mins. Tried safe mode, battery calibration, deleting apps. No damage to the phone. It did get extremely hot one day. I have no idea what to do about this.
The battery might have gone bad.

I would be concerned too if my phone were having any trouble operating. How long have you had the device? When you plug the charger in, what percentage does your battery show? When you unplug it, does it power off immediately or does it take a moment?
